What is Part L?
This course is aimed at heating engineers, gas fitters and plumbers plus associated trades who are involved in designing, specification, installation and maintenance of gas boilers, heating controls and hot water systems.
In line with Government, world summit and white paper commitments to reducing UK carbon emissions, building regulations that became effective in 2005 will require you to demonstrate your competence to self-certificate boiler installations. Attainment of the BPEC Certificate in Part L Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating will help you to comply with this requirement.
What is Part P?
Part P states that anyone carrying out electrical installation work in a home must make sure that the work is designed and installed to protect people from fire and electric shocks.
Part P applies to any changes made to existing installations, including any parts that have been rewired. In April 2013 further changes were introduced, reducing the range of electrical installation work that is notifiable - removing some requirements in kitchens and outdoors.
